Vitamin C is a nutrient found in food and dietary supplements. It is an antioxidant and also plays a key role in making collagen. When taken by the injection routes, vitamin C can reach much higher levels in the blood than when the same amount is taken by mouth. An injectable source of Vitamin C with antioxidant effects that may improve immune response. For use in cattle, sheep, horses, swine, dogs and cats as a supplemental source of Vitamin C. Vitamin C Injection is used as a nutritive supplement of Vitamin C. Vitamin C injection is most commonly given in the treatment or prevention of a Vitamin C deficiency. Vitamin C is also given to facilitate a more rapid wound healing time when a wound is healing slower than expected. Veterinarians will also give Vitamin C as an adjunct to other therapy when a patient appears to be recovering slowly to a usually effective treatment. Administer intramuscularly 1 to 10 ml depending on condition, species and body weight. Repeat daily or as directed. Follow recommended dosing by your veterinarian.
