ASI Quick Draw 4 Ring Magnet [15ct]

Heavy duty 3/4″ diameter x 3-3/8″ long cow magnet. Constructed of multiple smaller magnets which activate built-in steel plates. End plates and connector rod are also stainless steel. Contains no plastic parts.

Cow magnets are often administered to cattle to prevent hardware disease, which is caused by metal pushing through the stomach wall. Cattle eat quickly, without sorting their feed. They often ingest foreign material, especially when eating hay or processed feed. Heavy foreign objects, such as metal, fall into the reticulum. Contractions of the reticulum during normal digestion may push metal through the stomach wall.

Once the magnet is given to the cow, it settles into the animal’s reticulum. The magnet then ‘catches’ metallic metal objects the animal may have ingested during regular feeding or grazing habits. This helps prevent damage to other internal organs. When in the cow’s stomach, metals on the magnet can be repositioned with minimum pressure on the reticular wall, reducing punctures.
